Toshiba plans to launch Internet-enabled DVD player

After quitting the race of manufacturing high-definition DVD players with Blu-ray, Toshiba has now set its eyeballs on producing cheap DVD players with advanced image scaling capabilities. Speculations are rife regarding the installment of SpursEngine 1000 processor in these upcoming Toshiba HD-enabled DVD players.

Reportedly, a new Toshiba DVD Download/DL logo was approved during the recently held DVD Steering Committee meeting in Los Angeles. This logo is assumed to depict provision for the Internet connectivity in the soon expected Toshiba DVD players. The concerned officials have not divulged any further details on the issue.
