Toshiba REGZA SV LCD

Toshiba unveils a new line of Regza LCD TVs with the new Toshiba Regza SV. Coming in 46 and 55 inches, these new offerings from Toshiba sports an LED backlight, Resolution+ upscaling and 200Hz scanning.

The RGB LED backlight boosts the color gamut and sports local dimming to increase the black levels in darker areas of the picture, much like the systems we’ve seen used in high-end Samsung, Sony and Philips LCD in the past year.

Also on the SV series is DLNA networking tech for media streaming, four HDMI inputs, DivX playback via USB and a new “Deep Lagoon” design that sees the screen sitting flush with the TV frame – this apparently boosts contrast, much like the slight glossy surfaces of current Samsung TVs.

The Regza SV is scheduled to hit the stores next month. No pricing has been announced.
