Toshiba’s 256GB Solid State Drives With MLC

Toshiba Corp. and Toshiba America Electronics Components, Inc., have together recently announced their new 256GB Solid State Drives with MLC. These new drives will be launched at CEATEC in Makuhari, Japan between September 30 and October 4.

Offering performance characteristics, the new 256GB SSD is capable of supporting notebook computers, UMPCs and other personal devices. They come mounted with NAND flash memory on a 70.6 x 53.6 x 3.0 mm platform and provide fast data transfer rates with a fast speed of 120MB.

These 256GB SSD are compatible with the SATA interface. Consuming 5W of power, these drives are soon going to be available in the market.
