Twitter Soon Available on Internet@TV Service in UK

Samsung has revealed that Twitter will soon be available on its Internet@TV service and functional on the company’s LED 6000, 7000 and 8000 series televisions and 6 and 7 series LCD televisions. Internet@TV taps into the Yahoo! widget engine for weather, news, stock info and other internet services, appearing as a scroll bar at the bottom of the screen. Now it seems Twitter will allow users and viewers to tweet along to their favourite programes as they watch them.

UK TV shows such as The Apprentice and Question Time are already being heavily twitted about as the shows air with many complaining that the twitterverse is full of spoilers. Although Toshiba and LG will also be bringing out widget TVs later this year, Samsung says that it has an exclusive in the UK for 6 months.
