Walmart makes room for Blu-rayBy Jeff Baker - 11/04/2008 5:15:52 PM |

It’s not suprise that Blu-ray is begining to build up steam in hopes of overtaking DVDs in terms of sales, but a recent move by Walmart could possibly push Blu-ray in the right direction.
Apparently the mega-retailer is toying with the idea of decreasing the shelf space devoted to music CDs to make way for Blu-ray discs due to a recent decline in CD sales. Not only this, but DVD shelf space is also a potential victim to the brutal overtaking of Blu-ray.
This may or may not come as a surprise to you, with all of the moves towards digital distrubtion for music and SD video content. I mean who wants to wait for a HD movie to download anyways?
