Walmart Recalls Durabrand DVD Players Due to Fire Hazard

Walmart has issued a recall order on all Durabrand DVD players due to overheating which can become a fire and burn hazard for consumers. There were about 1.5 million units sold. To date, there have been 12 reports of DVD overheating where 5 have resulted in fires. No injuries have been reported though.

The device is silver colored and has a U-shaped opening at the top where the DVD is inserted. These units were sold via Wal-Mart at $29 since January 2006 to July 2009. People who have bought these Durabrand DVD players should stop using them and return it the nearest Wal-Mart outlet to get a full refund.
