WD RE3 drives

If you are looking for high performance SATA drives for your business applications, here comes the 3.5 inch WD RE3 drives. Available in capacity of 1TB with model WD 1002FBYS and 750GB with model WD57502ABYS, the hard drives are perfect for servers, video surveillance, storage arrays and other write intensive applications. The 32MB cache and vibration and shock tolerance augment the performance by 20 – 60%.
"WD continues to offer enterprise customers the best combination of features, optimum performance, and superior reliability that they have come to expect from WD," said Tom McDorman, vice president and general manager of enterprise storage solutions for WD. "With WD’s extensive experience in previous generation enterprise drives, we continue to address opportunities based on our customers positive experiences with WD enterprise hard drives."
The dual processor and motor shafts at both ends eliminates system-induced vibrations. The drive boasts mean time between failure of 1.2 million hours, TLER and NCQ and multi axis shock sensor. While the Raff technology keeps track of linear and rotational vibration, the Intelliseek technology reduces the power consumption by calculating optimum seek speeds.
The extensive testing process automatically explains the long term reliability. The third generation fly height technology, raid specific TLER, thermal extended burn-in test and no touch ramp load technology ensures greater performance. While the WD RE3 1 TB is priced at $249, the 750GB WD57502ABYS is available for $199. Both the drives come with a five year limited warranty.
