Yamaha NEXO RS15 Subwoofer

RS15 subwoofer The Infocomm 2008, held recently reached its ultimate height when the Yamaha Commercial Audio Systems, Inc. showcased its new NEXO RS15 Subwoofer. Being the first in the RS (Ray Sub) Series, the RS15 is a low-profile high-output, modular, scalable bass cabinet and is capable of operating in both omni-directional and cardioid modes.

Albert Cardenas, acoustic systems manager, states, “With this technology, the RS15 will provide unprecedented control in low frequency directivity. The addition of the new Ray Sub Series will provide even more options for NEXO customers.”

Let us throw a glance at the features of the Yamaha NEXO RS15 Subwoofer:

  • 15″ transducer
  • Frequency response in omni: 35Hz-200Hz
  • Frequency response in directional mode: 35Hz-150Hz
  • A sensitivity of 105dB SPL
  • Directive subwoofer coverage from a standard bass reflex architecture
  • Changing characteristics from omni to cardioid
  • NX242-ES4 TDcontrollers

The Yamaha NEXO RS15 Subwoofer is ideal for system installations and touring requirements. When used as cardioid, the sidewalls act as the cabinet’s front and rear face. Its cardioid LF and VLF energy propagates from only one end of the enclosure, rather than from the front face. Regardless of the position of the speaker cones, either on the side or top the Yamaha NEXO RS15 Subwoofer provides excellent performance.
