A company called Zeon has made a film that can an improve the contrast and widen the viewing angle of an LCD panel TV. It is already on Philips Ambilight TV, and Samsung is considering putting it on their LCD and OLED screens.

This film works on LCD and OLED screens, and uses vertical alignment technology and in-plane switching, originally developed by Hitachi. This new film will be on sale to LCD manufacturers this year, for screens that are 40 inches or more.
